Select Designated Pharmacy

The Select Designated Pharmacy program* helps members save money on select high-cost medications with three easy options. Each option has a different saving potential, and the member can choose any option to receive in-network benefits.

  1. Switch to a Lower-Cost Medication: There is often more than one medication available to treat a given condition. Some are very expensive, others are more affordable.
  2. The Mail-Order Pharmacy: Having a 90-day prescription delivered right to your door is convenient and also saves you money.
  3. Do both: This option saves you the most money.

*Not all benefit plans participate in the Select Designated Pharmacy program. Call the phone number on the back of your ID card for more information about your benefit plan design. The program is currently applicable for most fully insured customers. This program will not apply in states with regulations or rider language that prohibit the program. You can continue to obtain these medications at a retail pharmacy; however you will be responsible for paying the entire amount of the medication at the pharmacy and submitting a paper claim to the address on the back of your I.D. card for reimbursement under your out-of-network benefits.
